I think this book is so healing and inspiring for all types of trauma, but especially so for soldiers.

I agree with the thoughts of the consequences and trauma of war, no matter how just. As we are largely powerless to make decisions on war, I do think it can help us on our everyday conversations with friends and family. I often have a different perspective from my family on the justice of the many wars, but perhaps it is more helpful for us every day citizens to just remind each other of the trauma of war and to pray for the souls of all those involved, rather than constantly engaging over whether or not it is just.

That is a great point -- it's so much more important to acknowledge the damage being done; in the end it doesn't even matter all that much which side was right and which was wrong.
